The Youth Fishing League connects DC-area families through hands-on fishing experiences, teaching conservation and environmental stewardship while building family and community bonds. Our events inspire the next generation to discover the joy of fishing and become lifelong environmental leaders.
Role Title: Event Support Intern (Non-Technical) - Summer 2025
Role Description:
- Teach basic fishing skills to kids and parents (casting, rod setup, bait)
- Manage event setup/breakdown and equipment distribution
- Run registration and check-in
- Create welcoming environment for first-time fishing families
- Document events through photos and participant stories
- Attend required training sessions on fishing techniques, environmental education, and YFL mission
Application Requirements:
- Familiarity with particular software programs, languages spoken, etc. - NONE
- Do you require any materials before interviewing (i.e. assessments, portfolios, etc.) - NO
Location: In-person (DC metropolitan area)
Compensation: Unpaid
Time Commitment: 10 hours/week Duration: 8 weeks (June-August 2025t)
