ALTEREA | AGENTS OF INFLUENCE
Game Art and Media Design
About the Company & Project
We are Alterea Inc., an experience design company based in Los Angeles, CA. Through live and digital mediums we create experiences that draw on historical research and emerging art forms to explore and highlight participant agency. Our core team met as undergraduates at the University of Southern California designing experiences that combined immersive theater and interactive gaming.
Agents of Influence is an in-development educational video game that teaches students critical media literacy skills such as research, analysis, and effective conversation. We are seeking a Game Art and Media Design Intern to join our team and support the creation of compelling visual content and art assets to bring the world of Agents of Influence to life. We’re looking for someone who is creative, organized, technically savvy, and passionate about visual storytelling, game design, and the power of games to drive social change. This person will gain hands-on experience in game art and multimedia production within a startup environment focused on education, interactivity, and impact.
This is a part-time, remote, unpaid internship with the potential for increased responsibility and compensation based on performance.
Job Summary
The Game Art and Media Design Intern will create compelling visual and
media content that brings the world of Agents of Influence to life across game
development, marketing, and educational platforms. This role spans three key areas:
designing in-game art assets (UI elements, promotional graphics, visual props),
producing marketing content (social media graphics, trailers, devlogs), and developing educational materials (teacher guides, classroom handouts, instructional videos). You will work closely with our game development, narrative, and marketing teams to maintain visual consistency across all touchpoints—from in-game experiences to social media to classroom integration. This is an opportunity to build a diverse portfolio in game-adjacent design while contributing to an educational product with real social impact.
