Theytriarchy is seeking a video editor intern to help shape a powerful new docuseries about athletes, innovators, scientists, engineers, artists, and changemakers expanding what human possibility looks like.
Torch reframes innovation as a team sport. Through stories at the intersection of sports science, sustainability, engineering, AI, health, and culture, the series spotlights women and diverse leaders whose work is changing communities, economies, and the future of work.
The first internship project may focus on editing a 21 minute documentary vignette centered on a Special Olympics powerlifting team, along with a 2 minute trailer for the story. The vignette follows the athletes, coaches, families, and community members connected to the team as they prepare, compete, support one another, and show what strength, inclusion, discipline, and joy look like in practice.
We are looking for an editor who can help turn interview footage, verité scenes, b roll, competition footage, and short form social assets into compelling, emotionally resonant stories. This role is ideal for someone who loves documentary storytelling, understands pacing and character, and wants hands on experience working with a mission driven creative team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Editing a 21 minute documentary vignette focused on a Special Olympics powerlifting team
- Editing a 2 minute trailer for the vignette
- Reviewing and organizing footage, interviews, b roll, selects, and project files
- Shaping interview and field footage into clear, compelling narrative arcs
- Pulling strong emotional moments, story beats, and visual sequences from raw footage
- Creating short form clips and social video assets
- Collaborating with the director/producer on structure, tone, rhythm, and revisions
- Supporting captions, clean exports, and basic accessibility needs when needed
- Maintaining a polished, cinematic, mission aligned editorial style
Ideal candidates:
- Have experience editing documentary, sports, journalism, nonprofit, branded documentary, or social impact content
- Work in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, or comparable professional editing software
- Have strong story instincts and can find the human thread inside complex material
- Are comfortable working remotely and asynchronously
- Are detail oriented, organized, communicative, and responsive
- Care about representation, inclusion, disability justice, women’s leadership, innovation, and systems change
- Are excited to help tell stories about athletes and communities with dignity, nuance, and emotional depth
