Overview

The Live Music Project (LMP) connects people with live early music, classical, and contemporary classical music experiences in a way that strengthens community, celebrates listener agency, and amplifies local arts resources. Our fully-remote internship program is a hands-on opportunity to support the systems, tools, and community engagement efforts that power our Concert Calendar, Spontaneous Free Tickets, and data-driven outreach programs.

Work schedule will be a mixture of set and variable working hours but must be communicated ahead of time. LMP is a fully remote working environment. All contractors, interns, and volunteers must have reliable access to a computer and internet and feel comfortable learning new software and tools to be effective in this position.

Interns will:

Collaborate with LMP staff and volunteers
Apply strong writing, research, and organizational skills
Gain experience using Odoo, Little Green Light, Google Workspace, Mailchimp, Slack, Canva, and Meta Business Suite
Learn how mission-aligned technology supports arts access and community-building

Program Associate Duties with the Live Music Project:

(These are examples of activities that may fill your time while interning with the Live Music Project.)

Add concerts using LMP’s standardized tags for composer, time period, genre, and instrumentation
Maintain concert details formatting in Odoo event cards
Use LMP’s Spontaneous Free Tickets platform to set up and manage giveaways
Draft emails to winning participants and concert partners
Track program metrics and organize community feedback
Assist with outreach as we relaunch and expand the program
Review and clean up organizational data in Odoo and Little Green Light
Research grant opportunities by focus city and eligibility
Organize funding leads and assist with tracking deadlines
Support donor communication and acknowledgment workflows
Assist with development reports and grant calendar maintenance
Draft and schedule weekly social posts using Meta/Vista Social and Canva
Repurpose existing materials into newsletters, blogs, or donor outreach
Brainstorm creative engagement content tied to calendar events, composers, or holidays
Create a themed social media mini-campaign (e.g., “LMP Loves Local” or “Summer Outdoors”)
Reconnect with dormant partner orgs to invite them back to the platform and/or do outreach to new community partner orgs to invite them to use the platform

Qualifications & Skills:

A passion for and commitment to connecting people with live classical music.
A deep interest in making classical music a more equitable and just field for all.
Excellent proofreading, attention to detail, and curiosity and patience when searching for information.
Access to a reliable computer and internet.
An ability to learn and efficiently use Mailchimp, Odoo, G-Suite applications, Slack, IMSLP, social media platforms (specifically Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), Canva, style guides, and a lot of Google.
Excellent & friendly written communication.
Ability to work independently and ask for guidance when needed.
Interest in communications/marketing and/or non-profit administration.
Available to meet with the Executive Director as needed during work hours.

Compensation: Unpaid

Time Commitment: 4-6 hours/week
