We are seeking motivated and versatile Research Assistant Interns to support various initiatives. Research Assistants can choose from the following tracks: academic research in recreational therapy, generating reports on brain health, science literacy, and legislative matters related to veteran advocacy, as well as contributing to health and wellness media and guides.
Our independent internship program has 3 cycles, with start and end dates that vary each year to align with regional academic institutions.
- 16-week fall semester from September through December
- 16-week spring semester from January through May
- 9-week summer program from June through August
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Lift & Shift Foundation team to conduct academic research related to recreational therapy and other designated areas.
- Assist in producing reports that support brain health, science literacy, and legislative issues pertaining to veteran advocacy.
- Contribute to the development of health and wellness media and guides.
- Engage in individualized research experiences, guided exploration, and career planning in research and academic networking.
- Develop writing products focused on science communication, potentially including peer-reviewed publications.

Requirements:
- High school student enrolled in a national high school program.
- Passion for STEM, medical, or science communications fields
- Demonstrated interest in science communication and academic writing.
- Strong self-motivation, time management, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities in a remote environment.
- Pursuing or intending to pursue studies in a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
Commitment of ~8 hours per week.
