Description
Youth Fishing League is looking for a Grants & Funding Research Intern to help identify funding opportunities that support youth outdoor education, fishing access, environmental education, family engagement, community health, conservation, and nonprofit youth programs.
This role is ideal for a student who enjoys research, writing, organizing information, and learning how nonprofits find funding.
Responsibilities
- Research grant opportunities for youth programs, outdoor education, fishing, conservation, environmental education, health/wellness, family engagement, and community programs
- Maintain a grant tracker with deadlines, eligibility, funder priorities, award amounts, and application links
- Summarize best-fit grant opportunities for Youth Fishing League leadership
- Research past grantees to understand what types of projects funders support
- Draft short funder profiles
- Organize grant materials, including program descriptions, impact stats, and photo needs
- Help identify corporate giving programs, family foundations, community foundations, and local funders
- Prepare weekly funding research summaries
Important boundaries
- Intern will not submit grant applications without review
- Intern will not contact funders unless approved
- Intern will not create final budgets or make commitments on behalf of Youth Fishing League
- All grant language will be reviewed by Youth Fishing League leadership
