About The Missing Piece App
The Missing Piece App is a care coordination platform reimagining how families raising children with autism access services. We bring together healthcare, education, and community resources into one easy-to-navigate place—removing the overwhelm from what should never be a solo journey.
Our mission is to help 1 million families feel seen, supported, and empowered.
We are a heart-centered, early-stage startup rooted in:
- Authenticity over perfection
- Creativity over conformity
- Hard work with compassion
- Growth mindsets over fixed ones
We’re building something different—bold, community-driven, and unapologetically human. And we’re inviting YOU to shape that story with us.
Role Overview
As our Social Media Manager Intern, you’ll help craft and share our story across two distinct audiences and platforms:
- TikTok: Focused on parents, families, and community members navigating autism care
- LinkedIn: Focused on providers, partners, hospital systems, and professionals who align with our mission
You’ll collaborate closely with the CEO and other interns to create emotionally resonant short-form video content, build engagement, and bring visibility to the resources, voices, and families behind our brand.
You’ll also have creative freedom we’re early-stage, so this is the time to explore ideas, test formats, and help shape our online presence from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Content Creation & Visual Storytelling
- Use CapCut and Canva to create short-form videos for TikTok and shareable graphics for LinkedIn
- Repurpose long-form content (webinars, live talks, interviews) into snackable social formats
- Write captions that blend emotion, education, storytelling, and clear calls-to-action
Platform-Specific Posting & Growth
- Schedule content in Planoly or ClickUp
- On TikTok: Post relatable, empowering, and community-centered content for autism moms and caregivers
- On LinkedIn: Share resources, podcast clips, and short videos tailored to a more professional audience—while keeping our brand voice human, bold, and authentic
- Track post performance and experiment with content types that drive engagement
Community Interaction & Collaboration
- Engage with users, respond to DMs and comments with warmth and relatability
- Work closely with the Lead Gen Intern to identify and engage potential podcast guests, mombassadors, and aligned creators
- Collaborate across the team to amplify real stories, resource highlights, and mission-driven messaging
Trend Spotting & Brand Strategy
- Research trends (sounds, hashtags, topics) and apply them creatively to our brand voice
- Stay current on autism-related, healthcare, and social justice conversations across platforms
- Present content ideas weekly to help shape strategy for both TikTok and LinkedIn
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You…
- Have experience creating and editing short-form videos (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)
- Are comfortable using CapCut, Canva, and basic content planning tools
- Understand how to adjust tone across platforms (fun, emotional for TikTok; more structured yet still human for LinkedIn)
- Are emotionally intelligent and believe in the power of storytelling that connects
- Can work independently, take initiative, and adapt based on what’s working
- Are deeply curious about the intersection of care, community, and creativity
What You’ll Gain
- A portfolio of real-world content published across TikTok and LinkedIn
- Mentorship and growth opportunities in an early-stage startup
- Experience working cross-functionally on social, storytelling, and lead generation
- The opportunity to help shape an online brand that speaks to real families, real providers, and real change
Join Us If You’re Ready To:
- Use creativity as a form of care and advocacy
- Show up with curiosity and a willingness to learn
- Use your voice to help build something bigger than yourself
- Bring empathy, humor, and truth to every post you make
**Application Requirements:
- A short paragraph (written or video your choice!) sharing:
- Why you’re excited about The Missing Piece App and our mission
- How you use tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, CapCut, or other tech platforms to create content, streamline your workflow, or work more efficiently
- 1–2 examples of content you’ve created
- TikTok or Reels links are preferred
- Graphics, written LinkedIn posts, or other short‑form content are welcome
- We’re looking for your style, storytelling ability, and creativity, not perfection
- Your resume & LinkedIn profile
Additional Preferences (Not Required, But a Plus)
- Familiarity with TikTok and LinkedIn as distinct platforms with different audiences
- Multilingual creators encouraged to apply
- We are especially excited about candidates who are comfortable creating or sharing content in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Tagalog, and other languages outside of English as this helps us reach parents and families often overlooked in traditional marketing and social media spaces
We’re looking for someone who is curious, creative, tech‑comfortable, and deeply aligned with community‑centered storytelling. If you don’t meet every box but feel connected to the mission, we still encourage you to apply.
Your voice matters here.
