Website Inventory Assistant
Role Description
As the Website Inventory Assistant, you will support the Alurella team by helping to manage and organize product listings on the website. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student interested in fashion, e-commerce, or technology. You’ll gain hands-on experience with the behind-the-scenes operations of a fashion marketplace and contribute to how customers experience the site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Updates & Management
- Upload new products to the Alurella website (photos, sizes, descriptions, pricing, categories).
- Monitor product availability and help mark items as "sold out" or "back in stock."
- Organize collections by category (e.g., dresses, abayas, tops, occasion wear).
- Ensure accuracy in size charts, product tags, and variant options (color, size, etc.).
2. Visual & Content Support
- Assist with organizing and renaming product images.
- Help create clean, easy-to-read product descriptions using templates provided.
- Support layout checks for consistency across the site (especially mobile view).
3. Data Entry & Tracking
- Update spreadsheets to track current inventory and designer/vendor submissions.
- Record product upload status and flag missing details or image files.
- Support product performance tracking (e.g., number of views, bestsellers, etc.).
4. Quality Assurance & Testing
- Click through new product listings to check for broken links, typos, or display issues.
- Help test website usability by reviewing category filters, navigation menus, and search functions.
- Provide feedback on how the shopping experience could be improved for young adults or first-time shoppers.
Who You Are
- Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable
- Comfortable using spreadsheets and learning basic website tools
- Interested in fashion, e-commerce, or tech
- Able to follow step-by-step instructions and work independently
- Strong written communication and file organization skills
Bonus If You Have
- Familiarity with Shopify, or other website builders
- Experience using Google Sheets or Excel
- Interest in modest fashion or ethical consumerism
- A strong eye for visual detail and presentation
