Lift and Shift Foundation is seeking an entrepreneurial and motivated high school student to join our team as a Fundraising and Business Development Intern. In this role, you will help drive the foundation’s mission by using creative approaches to secure resources, connect with organizations, and assist with key initiatives that expand our impact. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn about business development and fundraising in a dynamic nonprofit setting.
Our internships are part of an unpaid program with three cycles to align with regional academic institutions:
- 12-week fall semester (September–December)
- 12-week spring semester (February–May)
- 9-week summer program (June–August)
Responsibilities
As a Fundraising and Business Development Intern, you will:
- Use social media and other online platforms to connect with businesses and organizations for in-kind donations and sponsorship opportunities.
- Assist in identifying and showcasing small products that can be 3D printed in-house for our online store to support foundation programs.
- Collaborate with the executive team to organize and execute day-to-day fundraising efforts, including brainstorming campaigns and planning outreach strategies.
- Help draft creative and engaging partnership proposals, sponsorship requests, and social media outreach posts.
- Explore passive income opportunities for the foundation, such as affiliate programs or community fundraisers.
- Contribute to brainstorming and implementing startup-style business development strategies that align with the foundation’s goals.
- Participate in virtual team meetings to discuss and improve ongoing projects.
